Wednesday, February 4, C Day
Block 1

Climate Committee Performance: Climate committee will perform a skit that will be focused on students’ rights. [Little Theater]

Ryan Rosenblatt’s Band. [L1]

Wayland Youth and Family Services: The Wayland Youth and Family services will make a presentation on stress reduction for students. [No room specified]

Block 2

Doctor Halpin’s Friend, Robin Cullen: Robin Cullen, as a younger person, was incarcerated. She is now out of jail and tells her story (focusing on substance abuse). [No room specified]

Marge Porter: Polar Ice is Nice–Research in Antarctica and the Arctic [L-12]
Marjorie Porter is a high school science teacher who served as a research assistant on an Antarctic icebreaker in 1994 and has since carried out science research in Alaska. For the past four years she has taken small groups of students to Fairbanks to work with scientists who are studying a variety of factors related to climate change.
This talk will be supplemented with lots of photographs. The slant will be polar science and the environment, with the ultimate goal of improving students’ understanding of the polar regions and our changing climate.

Mary Condon: Mary Condon, a representative of Sovereign Bank, will be making a presentation on credit ratings and banking for high school students going off to college. [H-3]

Block 5

Adam Ezra: Performing artist Adam Ezra, a regular favorite, will once again be performing a set. Mostly acoustic guitar. [Little Theater]

Dramatic Arts: The dramatic arts class will be performing. [L-1]

City Year: Mr. Lidell will lead a discussion on City Year, an alternative to college in which students work on community service type projects. [Folding Door Area in Media Center]

Block 6

Thursday, February 5, D Day
Block 1

Mr.Delaney will be showing a feature length film (Black History Month Theme). All juniors must attend, blocks one and two, to see “Soldier’s Story.” [Little Theater]

Substance Abuse Movie: A group of Wayland parents will be showing a movie on substance abuse. [L-1]

Wayland to Waveland Speaker: The Wayland to Waveland group (rebuilding a community in Waveland, Mississippi after Katrina) will present. [No room specified]

Block 2
