BREAKING NEWS: Wayland Public Schools closed on Tuesday, October 30
October 30, 2012, 6:00 a.m. Due to school cancellations, the end of the first academic quarter has been moved to November 13. Testing days have also been moved. England, math and fine art’s testing days are now November 1, 2, 9 and 13. Social studies and business, science and language’s testing days are November 5, 6, 7 and 8, according to Assistant Principal Allyson Mizoguchi.

October 29, 2012, 8:28 p.m.: According to Superintendent Paul Stein, 43 percent of Wayland residences do not have power. Concord Road, Old Connecticut Path at Simpson Road, Rice Road and Draper Road have been closed off due to effects of the inclement weather. Preparations have been made to open the emergency shelter if it becomes necessary. Stein will be making the decision about whether or not to close schools tomorrow once he has more information.
October 28, 2012, 7:54 p.m.: Wayland Public Schools will be closed on Monday October 29, according to boston.cbslocal.com.
October 28, 2012, 7:46 p.m.: The Goddard school and the Barat Montessori school are closed, according to the Wayland Patch.
October 28, 2012, 7:24 p.m.: Superintendent Paul Stein will make a decision on closing Wayland Public Schools by 6:00 AM on October 29 and the decision will be announced through radio stations WBZ (1030 AM) and television channels 4, 5, 7 and 25 by 6:30 AM the same day, according to Wayland Public Schools’ inclement weather policy.
October 28, 2012, 6:06 p.m.: According to WBZ, Governor Deval Patrick declared a state of emergency in response to Hurricane Sandy and asked all schools and businesses to close on Monday, October 29. Superintendent Paul Stein has not released a school closing announcement for the Wayland Public Schools.
