Warrior Weekly: Spring sports update

This week, Harry discusses the spring season so far by giving a short recap on many teams' performances.
Wow, it feels really weird to know that we are almost halfway through the spring season. Because of vacation and the Boston Marathon tragedy, I have yet to fully discuss the happenings of the season so far. For anyone out there wondering how the spring season has been going so far, here are the updates.

Baseball: So far, the baseball team has a record of 4-5. However, the team is currently second in the DCL behind powerhouse Waltham, who the Warriors lost to Saturday night. The team had a big division game against Bedford on Monday and won 8-2.

Softball: The softball team currently sits with a record of 1-9. I know the girls will continue to fight every single time they are out there on the field, despite their record.

Boys’ tennis: The boys’ tennis team continues to be one of the strongest spring teams. At the beginning of this week, the team had a 5-2 record and is poised for another deep run in the tournament.

Girls’ tennis: The girls’ tennis team has also been pretty successful this season. On Monday, the girls had a 4-3 record, and they hope to have a strong week with games against Bedford, Acton-Boxborough and Boston Latin.

Boys’ and girls’ lacrosse: Both teams have been very, very good. The boys currently have a 7-3 record, and the girls had a 7-0-1 record on monday. Both teams are filled with seniors and are expected to have a great second half to their seasons.

Boys’ volleyball: Volleyball has made it through the first half of its season with a record of 5-6. The team, which is made up entirely of seniors, has the veteran presence that will set the boys up for a good second half of their season and a great tournament run.

Good luck to all of the spring teams for the rest of their seasons.

Now for those who care, a quick update on how my predictions are looking. Yes I was right, Bryce Harper is having a monster season, and with the Jets drafting Geno Smith, having Tim Tebow on the Patriots is pretty inevitable.

I hope everyone is enjoying the nice spring weather!

“You want proof that baseball players are smarter than football players? How often do you see a baseball team penalized for too many men on the field?” -Jim Bouton
