The Dubtown Beat: Early fall jams

Jared recommends highlights of this fall's jams.
Hello Dubtown Beat readers! While summer may be over, some awesome new music was released in the past two months that you should all check out.

Lets start with some legitimately good pop music. While I am not generally interested in this genre, a new artist has hit the scene that is destined for stardom. Her name is Ariana Grande, and she has the voice of an angel. Her singing has been compared to Mariah Carey, and those comparisons are well-deserved. She has an unbelievable voice, and she can hit ridiculously high notes by tapping into her whistle register, the highest register of the human voice. Ariana first caught my attention when I heard her hit single “The Way” featuring Mac Miller over the summer. She released her debut album “Yours Truly” in early September. Get Ariana’s debut album here:

The Arctic Monkeys, a British indie rock group, have also recently dropped an album. Released in mid-September, their fifth studio project is called “AM.” With a unique kind of upbeat indie rock, the band has established themselves as one of Britain’s most popular acts. Pick up “AM” in stores or on iTunes:

For those who are feeling a little down right now, I have the perfect album for you. The LA funk group The Internet just released their new album, called “Feel Good.” The record is chock full of chill funk and neo-soul, the perfect playlist for after a long day at school. You can grab “Feel Good” on iTunes:

Finally, I leave you with some music for your soul. Singer John Legend’s new album “Love In The Future” incorporates a variety of musical influences. Executive producer Kanye West complimented Legend’s smooth vocals with some upbeat hip-hop sample based beats, making this a very balanced album. My personal favorites from John’s new album are “Made To Love,” “Who Do We Think We Are” and “Tomorrow.” Pick up the new album in stores or on iTunes:

Thats all for now! Keep checking in for more great tunes to come!
