Warrior Weekly: Winter Tryouts

width="470"
This week, Harry discusses the upcoming winter sports and the surprising success of some professional teams.
[/caption]Hey everybody, sorry for the delay between blogs. Here is a quick update on what happened between posts.

-The powderpuff game got pretty nasty (shout-out to my girl Maddie Kiefer). However, Wayland won the game. Congratulations ladies. This was a big win considering there may not be a powderpuff game between Wayland and Weston next year.

-Wayland also won the classic Thanksgiving game in frigid temperatures. Although Robert Williams didn’t break the all time Warrior single season rushing record, he had a fantastic year. Nice job Robert! It will be tough to fill the holes left by some of the seniors, but the football team should feel confident at its QB spot. Robert Jones has made great progress this year in this position.

-Winter tryouts started this past week. Look to WSPN for the comeback of the tryout series. It is a very funny video series that features someone trying out for sports which s/he really shouldn’t be playing. That should be up in the next few weeks.

-Also, look out for the winter sports preview this week, which will give you a more in depth look at all of the winter sports teams that will be playing for the next couple of months.

-In professional news: This Patriots team reminds me way too much of the Red Sox team. They shouldn’t be winning, but they are. They miraculously never give up on the game no matter how impossible it may be. Whenever someone gets injured or is a little inconsistent, the next player on the depth chart steps up. So who cares that we lost Wilfork, Mayo, Vollmer, Kelly, and now probably Gronk for the year? Who cares that Steven Ridley can’t hold onto the the ball? I have no doubt that the next player on the tight end depth chart will step up. It’s what has happened all year. I’m looking at you Michael Hoomanawanui. I don’t think this season is over. Bring on the playoffs.

-Speaking of teams like the 2013 Red Sox, remember when the Celtics were supposed to be tanking to get the number one pick? They are currently the fourth seed in the eastern conference. I’m all in with this team. When Rondo comes back they are going to go far. Brad Stevens for President 2016!
