What is your favorite medium?
Paper and pencil.

How did you get into art?
We all make art as children; some people decide to never stop.

What was your inspiration for these self-portraits?
High school is a time when everyone is rapidly changing, and it can be hard to keep track of who you’ve been and who you are becoming. Each self-portrait over the years is an attempt to freeze myself in time, to express what emotions and moments may have been intangible, and to stamp them into reality with something as simple as a drawing.

How do you plan to pursue art in the future?
I will always be creating, whether it appears as artwork, music or writing. It is an intrinsic part of my life. It’s the only plan for my future that I am entirely certain of.
