Wandering Backpack: Brian Keaney

Wandering Backpack asks what you would bring if you had 10 minutes to pack a bag with your most treasured items, knowing you wouldn’t be back for years.

Pictures of family: You can’t fit family in a bag, so I just brought pictures of them.

iPod: Pretty much has most of the things that I would want to bring. It has all of my music and pictures of people that I would want to bring and you can also get internet access.

Billy Bragg CD: He is a British guy who is a mix of The Clash and Woody Gutherie.

NRBQ CD: The greatest American band you’ve never heard of.

Books: I brought a copy of a book from each genre. Each of these books are important for different reasons and I find myself drawn back to them at different times. “Sam and the Firefly” was my favorite children’s book, I really liked the poems of Dick Lourie, “A Confederacy of Dunces” is the funniest book I’ve ever read, “The Cripple of Inishmaan” is an Irish play and “Letters from the Country” is a collection of essays that had a lot of influence on me in my development as a writer.

Pilot G2 pen and Zebra Mechanical pencil: My current writing implements.

Red Sox hat: Galalis had a Yankees hat in his, so someone has to counter balance that.
