Students gathered in the Media Center to protest the deaths of Michael Brown and Eric Garner and the decisions of grand juries not to indict the police officers who killed the two men.
At 11 a.m., students and a few faculty members dropped to the floor around the circulation desk and laid down for 4½ minutes. Except for a few whispers, the Media Center was silent.
Members of administration, including Principal Allyson Mizoguchi and Assistant Principals Ethan Dolleman and Scott Parseghian, supervised the protest.
Brown died on August 9 when he was shot by Ferguson, Missouri police officer Darren Wilson, and Garner died on July 17 after being placed in a chokehold by New York City police officer Daniel Pantaleo. In the cases against Wilson and Pantaleo, grand juries did not indict the officers, setting off protests across the country.

This is more of a demonstration than a protest, are they protesting to the students? This really doesn't help the cause at all…

If you're going to talk about the die-in protest at least do it right. Like don't you think people are wondering "why 4 1/2 minutes?" The 4 1/2 minutes represent how long Brown's body was left on the street, except in his case it was hours not minutes.

The Brown case was not a problem he deserved to get shot. While the other case was unjust and the cop should of gotten in trouble.
