First annual field day to be held Wednesday, November 26

Wayland High School’s first annual field day will be held on Wednesday, November 26th. Each grade will compete with homeroom teams and these teams will earn points for their grades. Additional points will be awarded for the grade that has the most spirited clothing and the one that brings in the most cans/nonperishable items for homeless shelters.

Events for the Field Day include Rock Band, Karaoke, Family Feud, Trivia, Guitar Hero, Wii Tennis, Pictionary, Song Word Game, Song Recognition, Movie Recognition, and Coke and Pepsi.

Each grade will dress in an assigned color: Freshmen in green, sophomores in blue, juniors in red, and seniors in black and orange.

The winners will get the “Spirit Day Trophy.” Student Council is sponsoring this event. The Field Day will culminate in a pep rally to get us psyched for the Wayland-Weston football game.

On Dec. 14, Wayland School Committee held a meeting. During this meeting, acting science department head and wellness teacher John Berry gave a public comment, and School Committee member Jess Polizzotti shared student statements and a combined parent statement about mistreatment and bullying of a teacher by another teacher.
