Indian Exchange Students Leave Wayland

Sadly, Thursday of last week (May 1, 2008) the Indian Exchange students left Wayland high school to go to Orlando and then back to India. All the Indian exchange students lived with students from Wayland High School and they all went to different classes and electives at school, they pretty much became students of Wayland High School.

But before they left for good, they went out with a little surprise performance the day before they left. They opened with a song from India, then the girls performed a native dance of India. Then George Varkey Mammen and Elvin Jacobs (2 of the Indian Exchange students) sang a duet. George Varkey Mammen then performed a solo piece of the song Here Without You, by 3 Doors Down.

Overall it was an amazing performance, and we all will truly miss the Indian Exchange students. The hosts of the Indian exchange students will miss them terribly, and they can’t wait to see them in the summer.

Although they’re gone, we hope we gave them fond memories of Wayland High School to take back to India. If you have any questions about the next Indian exchange program, please go ask Mr. Rockerman or any students who have previously been on a trip.
