How did you get interested in art?
“Well I’ve always loved it. Since I was really little I would always be drawing. Like I had a little chalk board and I would draw on it all the time and it just continued to be a love of mine.”

Do you take art classes at the school?
“I do take art at school. I take Honors Art 3 with Mrs. Armentano. I love her, she’s one of the best teachers I’ve ever had.”

What is your favorite medium to work with?
“I like a lot of mediums but my favorites are pen and pencil, it’s kind of hard to pick between the two. I’ve drawn in pencil and pen and I’m just really used to them. There’s also so much you can do with them and I just love how they look.”

What do you like the most about art?
“Probably how much of a release and a de-stressor it is for me. Whenever I’m worried about something or stressed out, I know I can always go to my art. I also really like how it’s so different for everybody and you can tell through their artwork. From different styles, to different messages portrayed in their artwork, it means something to everyone and it doesn’t necessarily mean the same thing which I find really cool. I also really like how happy it makes me and other people. Art can cheer up people’s days and make them smile and it’s such a simple thing that can mean so much.”

Are you planning to base your future on your artistic talent?
“Yes, I am. I don’t know exactly how I plan to incorporate it into my future, but I don’t really care if it’s just as a hobby or as my profession. As long as art is in my life, I’ll be happy.”
