Name: Kayla Mabe

Grade: Junior

Sport: Soccer

Achievements:

Mabe started playing soccer in the first grade. She has been a three-year starter on the girls’ varsity soccer team, as well as a captain her junior year. She was nominated as a DCL All Star junior year. Additionally, she has been a two-year contributor to the girls’ varsity basketball team.

Sports Idol:

Mabe’s sports idol is New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski. She admires his determination and the way that he comes back from injuries and still plays well. She also respects his motivation and commitment to his team.

Favorite Memory:

Mabe’s favorite soccer memory took place this year, when one of her teammates took the entire team on an unexpected nature walk. “It was so unexpected and it was a lot of team bonding. It was so fun. I loved how we had such a big team connection,” Mabe said.
