When the pandemic hit, the TEDx Core team was initially discouraged, as it was uncertain if they could still host the TEDxYouth event. However, the TEDx Core team, speakers and coaches persevered and adapted. “We took a pause on planning during the beginning of quarantine but then began hosting our group meetings via Zoom,” senior Aydan McGah said. “We then decided we had to record all of the talks on video in order to hold a virtual viewing of them. We mapped out a timeline for the speakers in order for them to be ready for the recordings, and we set up an outdoor recording space at my house. We created a large TEDx sign and set up lights to make an appealing video background.”
