Wayland High School students gathered at the media center on Tuesday for a discussion led by senior William Paik regarding race, culture and religion at WHS.
Pictured above is freshman Jack Schwartz. “I love baseball because all of the little things you do throughout the game play a role in the odds you have of winning the game. The team that does all of the little things right, such as talking, knowing where the next play is going and taking opportunistic chances, usually wins the game, Schwartz.

Gabi Ragazzi and Nour Sayeh host benefit concert for Aurora Burgos

Seniors Gabi Ragazzi and Nour Sayeh hosted a benefit concert for WHS alum Aurora Burgos, who was injured in a car accident earlier this year. Proceeds will go toward her medical expenses.
Above is a student using his phone. Seniors set all of their phone alarms for 10 a.m. on May 24 as a senior prank. 
“If you want to play that game, there’s going to be some kind of consequence,”  Assistant Principal Scott Parseghian said.

Above is the Wayland Free Public Library (WFPL). The library trustees are beginning migration to a new home for Wayland’s books depending on approval from a town meeting. “We can offer a greater space for teens, more space for community events, a large extensive area for private study, a fully functional childrens room, and a building that is ADA [American with Disabilities Act] compliant,” WFPL Director Dana Mastroianni said.

Board of Library Trustees discusses updating current library

The Board of Library Trustees is currently discussing options to update the current library. The Board acquired a $150,000 grant from the town meeting in November to conduct a study to explore options for a new library.
This past season, Sean Chase earned his 200th career victory as head coach of the varsity wrestling team. “We have a good core of wrestlers who truly enjoy wrestling. Wrestling is a hard sport to enjoy, because of the very nature of it. We have a group of guys who I think for them, it’s their identity and they own it and they love it. They love that attention in that direction,” Chase said.
