The Warriors snatch a win against Newton-South High School on Friday, Nov. 1 at home with a final score of 62-20. Before the game, seniors on the football and cheer teams celebrated their last regular home game of the season. This year, there were 17 seniors on the football team and two seniors on the cheer team. All senior athletes received posters and flowers, and the opportunity to take pictures with their family. During the game, students in the fan section wore red, white and blue, and the WHS Pep Band hosted the younger band members of the Wayland community to play along with them. Wayland’s first game of the playoffs is this upcoming Friday, Nov. 8, in Burlington. If Wayland wins this game, they’ll be able to play again against a different town the following week.
