On Tuesday, May 27, the Creative Arts Parents Association (CAPA) held the Fine Arts Awards Night at WHS. The event started in the auditorium where fine arts teachers and CAPA representatives spoke and presented awards to students who they believed demonstrated excellence in various aspects of the arts. Seniors were also celebrated for the time that they dedicated to the arts. Orchestra, band, chorus, visual arts and dramatic arts were represented. After awards were presented, attendees were let into the commons where a sundae bar and photo booth were available for use. Attendees were also able to see visual art created by the seniors in the Honors Art 4 and AP studio art classes that were organized in panels. Other arts, such as ceramics, were also on display. “Ms. Latimer and I especially love it because our seniors are all recognized for their artwork,” Visual Arts Teacher Amy O’Connell said.
