The Class of 2026 ran into the WHS field house for the annual senior run-in on Thursday, August 28. The morning started with most seniors arriving in the senior lot, taking photos and enjoying each other’s company. They then walked outside of the dome to prepare for the run-in. Once the doors opened, seniors stormed in, with the rest of the WHS community cheering them on. The run-in was the last of three senior events that week, alongside Senior Sunrise and car painting that took place on Wednesday, August 27.

On Thursday, August 28, was WHS’s first day of school, where the Class of 2026 did the annual “Senior Run-In”. The Class of 2026 ran into the field house to commemorate their last first day. “The first day was super fun, it was great seeing everybody again,” senior Anna Yalli said.
The seniors circle up to make a mosh pit, where students cheer and jump together in the center of the field house.
The Class of 2026 sits together in the middle of the field house, as Principal Allyson Mizoguchi welcomes all WHS students back from summer break. “I am so excited for all of the different senior events this year, [I’m] specifically looking forward to powder puff, Progressive Dinner and the Senior Cruise,” senior Annie Melander said. “All of these events are so fun and are going to bring our grade together.”
The senior class claps as Student Council President Sofia DiCarlo and Vice President Ryan Chase get up and walk to the mic for an announcement.
Standing together, DiCarlo and Chase give an announcement to WHS on the first day of school, announcing the second annual homecoming dance, which is meant to take place Friday, Sept. 19 at the field house. “Being a part of Student Council, I know senior year is packed with events that will bring our grade closer together, and I know it’s going to be a blast,” DiCarlo said.
Senior Syl Haley (middle) sits at the back of the group, surveying the dome. The seniors all wear matching shirts that say “UNSTOPP26LE”. Each graduating class gets to vote on the word that goes on the back of their senior shirts. This is a tradition that has been happening at WHS for many years.
