News:

Staff Reporters Chloe Zilembo and Jessi Dretler recapped the Wayland Cares seminar on communication.

“This seminar’s purpose was to demonstrate the importance of clear directions and communication,” Zilembo and Dretler wrote. “During the seminar, students learned how important communication is in order to receive expected outcomes.”

Co-Editor Sophia Oppenheim and WSPN’s Nina Wilson reported on the “All politics is local: Climate change and you” event during Winter Week.

“According to climate activist Eben Bein, we all have the power to make a difference in our rapidly changing climate,” Oppenheim and Wilson wrote. “This power lies in addressing our state government and acknowledging the role young people play in enacting change.”

Sports:

Staff Reporter Selena Liu reported on the success of the girls varsity basketball team this year. Meanwhile, Zilembo shared her opinion on the NHL Winter Classic.

Staff Reporter Jeffery Zhang wrote about Morocco’s run in the 2022 FIFA World Cup. WSPN’s Bella Schreiber and Staff Reporter Jenny Shine shared their opinions on the NFL’s treatment of concussions.

WSPN’s Tess Alongi, Oppenheim and Wilson reported on the Senior Show tradition. Alongi and Staff Reporter Lucy Grasso photographed the “Lock Box Challenge.” Liu and WSPN’s Katya Luzarraga produced a gallery about the 10 minute plays performed by Honors Dramatic Arts students.

WSPN’s Liv Tawakol and Staff Reporter Tina Su photographed the second session of 10 minute plays. WSPN’s Nadya Chase and Co-Editor Sasha Libenzon produced a video about the a cappella Winter Week performance, and Staff Reporters Abby Raftery and Melina Barris produced a video about the Honors Sinfonia Orchestra’s Winter Week performance.

Chase and WSPN’s Aimee Smith reviewed the TV show “Kaleidoscope.”
