On Tuesday, March 28 and Wednesday, March 29, sophomores will take the English Language Arts (ELA) Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System (MCAS) exam during the first three blocks of each day.

MCAS testing will be held in the English wing, meaning all classes usually located in the English wing will be relocated during the testing period. There will be signs posted on English classroom doors so that students who are not taking MCAS know where to go for class.

“Out of respect for our test-takers, you must be silent and may not linger in the English pod,” Wayland High School Principal Allyson Mizoguchi wrote in an email to students.

On Tuesday, advisory will not be held and there will be a special bell schedule. The period rotation will also run in a different order: five, six, two, eight, four and one. This means that blocks one and five will swap, and blocks two and six will swap.

“If you have any questions about the week ahead, please ask any adult,” Mizoguchi wrote.
