In the fourth edition of WSPN goes clubbing, WSPN’s Jenny Shine and Annika Martins interview Window Dance Ensemble Director Belle Peredna.
What is Window Dance Ensemble?
“Window Dance Ensemble is a student-run dance group that performs two shows during the school year of various dance styles,” Window Director Belle Peredna said. “We host practices everyday after school during both the winter and spring season [to prepare] for our shows.”
How did this club begin?
“This club began to create a space at Wayland High School for dancers to perform and choreograph dances,” Peredna said.
Why should someone join the club?
“People should join Window because it is a space to be creative and dance with school friends,” Peredna said. “Window allows students to perform for the school, as well as choreograph dances with peers and create long-lasting friendships.”
What are meetings like and how often are they?
“Meetings are held everyday after school in the lecture hall. We learn one to two dances a week, and rehearse them throughout the year,” Peredna said. “Choreographers of the designated week come in with choreography ready to [teach the other dancers]. We chat and have fun while learning together.”
What is one goal that you have for the club this year?
“This year, our main goal is to have a fun and exciting year and to have a great show for the school,” Peredna said.
