News Brief: Class of 2024 graduation

The Class of 2024’s graduation is set to take place Friday, June 7, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m..

The Wayland High School Class of 2024’s graduation is set to take place today, June 7, at 6 p.m.. Graduation will take place on the high school turf, and will last until 7:30 p.m.. Though unlikely, anticipated rain may move the ceremony to June 8, at 6 p.m..

Graduation is the last of a series of class events that have taken place for the Class of 2024. On the seniors’ last day of school, May 31, there was a Senior Breakfast before the start of the school day.  On June 4 and 5, seniors attended mandatory graduation rehearsals that took place from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.. On Tuesday evening, June 4, seniors attended the Senior Boat Cruise, where they wore the merchandise of the schools they plan to attend in the future. On June 6, seniors attended Class Night, a semi-formal dance held at Wedgewood Pines Country Club from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m..

Seniors are advised to arrive at the high school by 5 p.m. to prepare. Guest may arrive to find seating as early as 4:30 p.m.. During the ceremony, speeches will be given by members of WHS administration and members of the graduating class.

“The days leading up to Graduation are designed to bring the class together in celebration of their many accomplishments, and they are often some of the most memorable experiences for our graduates,” WHS Principal Allyson Mizoguchi said in a letter containing graduation details. “We are proud of the Class of 2024 and look forward to celebrating with them!”
