Apple crisp is a perfect sweet treat to bring home for the holidays. This dessert is a fan favorite that is best served with a side of vanilla ice cream.
For this recipe, gather four to six apples, oats, nutmeg, cinnamon, butter, brown sugar and flour.Start by cutting apples of your choice into thin, even slices. Depending on your preference, you can skin the apples or skip that step. Also, pre-heat your oven to 375ºF.Next, spray a pan or tray with cooking spray before laying the apples down in even layers.Now, move to mixing the following dry ingredients in a separate bowl. 3/4 cup packed brown sugar 1/2 cup flour 1/2 cup quick-cooking or old-fashioned oatsNext, add in the following dry ingredients. 1/3 cup butter, softened 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon 3/4 teaspoon ground nutmegPlace the apple crisp in the oven for 30 minutes. When the timer runs out, make sure apples are tender when pierced with a fork.Let the apple crisp cool and serve with ice cream for a delicious, simple dessert this holiday season.
