On Wednesday, Jan. 22, Assistant Principal Laura Cole sent out an email announcing that Claypit Hill Elementary School experienced a water main break this morning.
Around 600 Claypit students are expected to stay in the field house, theater and designated classrooms. High school students will not be allowed to enter these spaces. Claypit students will have an early dismal at 11:30 a.m. and 1:15 p.m., meaning buses will be arriving on campus around 10 a.m.. Juniors and Seniors who plan to leave campus around these times are expected to proceed with caution.
“If you are a Junior or Senior leaving campus, please be aware of extra traffic and be patient, many of these parents have never been to the high school,” Cole wrote.
There are still details being sorted out, such as lunch, but Cole has stated that WHS will operate as usual.
This article is a developing story that is subject to updates.
Update: Claypit students will be eating lunch from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. and will be seated at one side of the commons. WHS students who have first or second lunch will be eating alongside the elementary.
