On Friday, Nov. 22 morning, Wayland Middle School (WMS) announced it would be closed for the day due to a power surge.
Due to the heavy rainfall that took place all of Thursday into Friday, WMS lost power and has been unable to restore power in time for the Friday school day. Families of students who attend WMS received an automated call Friday morning informing them that due to the power surge, school is unable to take place.
Classes will take place at all other schools in the district, as these schools did not lose power during the storm.
