The Wayland High School community dressed in purple in honor of Jim Griffin on Wednesday.
“I think it’s a great way to honor him and his family, and it shows that the community supports him. It’s an easy thing to do where everyone is coming together,” said junior Melanie Barber.
“Mr. Griffin was my guidance counselor, and he helped me a lot with the college process. We got really close my junior year and the beginning of my senior year. I feel like it is really important to remember him and everything he did for me and other students that were having a hard time,” said senior Vanessa Moore.
Students ran a bake sale after school to raise money for the Jim Griffin Family Trust Fund; over $100 was raised.
“It’s a sign of how much everyone loved him,” said sophomore Alex VanRooyen.
