Nordic Ski Team:
This season, three skiers on the Nordic team placed in the top 20 of the state – senior-captain Hannah Brigham placed 13, sophomore Paul Longnecker placed 17 and junior Elizabeth Karpacz placed 20. Overall, the girls placed sixth at states, and the boys placed 15.
Alpine Ski Team:
The alpine season, six skiers qualified for their respective state races. The boys’ team, made up of mostly freshmen and sophomores, pulled through and placed third overall, and the girls placed fourth.
Boys Varsity Basketball:
The boys had a successful winter season, with 10 returning seniors, lead by four-year player Jaleel Bell. Bell won the DCL MVP for the second year in a row and led the Warriors to a 14-4 record. However, the season ended with a disappointing loss to Danvers in the Division III North finals.
Girls Varsity Basketball:
Girls’ basketball got off to a strong start with wins in their first few games and finished the season with a record of 4-12, an improvement from their one-win season last year.
Indoor Track:
Many athletes from the indoor track team made states, including the girls’ 4×400 relay and the girls’ 4×200 relay. The girls 4×400 team finished 19 overall at the Division III indoor track state meet, and the girls 4×200 placed 17 overall. Most notably for the boys’ team, senior Nick Ng placed 11 in the 55 hurdles and finished 7 in the long jump, and junior Bennett Keyes placed ninth in the 600 meter run.
Swimming:
The girls’ swimming team’s hard work all season paid off with their victory at states for the second year in a row, the seventh in eight years. They finished the season with an undefeated record. The boys team also did well coming in second place at states, improving from last year with a record of 10-3.
Girls Hockey:
Despite an unfortunate ending, with the girls’ starting goalie deciding not to play in their playoff game, the girls’ hockey team had a record of five wins, seven losses and three ties.
Boys Hockey:
The boys hockey team had a winning season with seven wins, five losses and four ties. The team qualified for the state tournament but lost in the first round to Rockport High School.
Wrestling:
Wrestling came out with a great record of 24-3. Seniors Nick Coffin, Jesse Goddard and Kevin Kelly led the team and helped them make great improvements. In the 182 pound weight class, Kelley placed fifth, senior Matt Devlin placed sixth in the 195 pound weight class and senior Marvin Pimentel placed fifth in the 220 pound weight class.
