The girls’ volleyball team lost their home game against Concord-Carlisle 3-0 this past Friday.
The girls had played Concord-Carlisle previously this season and lost 15-13 in the fifth game but were unable to change the result this time around.
With the loss, the team has an 8-7 record and is looking for one more win to make the post-season tournament. If they are successful, this will be the first tournament appearance for all of the team members. Many of the players believe that team chemistry has been an important key to the team’s newfound success.
“Everyone on the team has bonded, so everyone works really well with each other,” junior TK Whitesell said.
At first, many of the team members didn’t think this season would be successful because six seniors graduated off last year’s team.
“It would be a really big deal to make tournament,” senior captain Alex VanRooyen said. “We assumed this would be a building year, and the fact we’re doing so well is really surprising.”
The team has three more chances to make tournament with away games against Waltham and Bedford and a home game against Lincoln-Sudbury, which will be the team’s senior night.
