Wednesday, February 4, C Day
Block 1

Climate Committee Performance: Climate committee will perform a skit that will be focused on students’ rights. [Little Theater]

Doctor Halpin’s Friend, Robin Cullen: Robin Cullen, as a younger person, was incarcerated. She is now out of jail and tells her story (focusing on substance abuse). [No room specified]

Marge Porter: Polar Ice is Nice–Research in Antarctica and the Arctic [L-12]
Marjorie Porter is a high school science teacher who served as a research assistant on an Antarctic icebreaker in 1994 and has since carried out science research in Alaska. For the past four years she has taken small groups of students to Fairbanks to work with scientists who are studying a variety of factors related to climate change.
This talk will be supplemented with lots of photographs. The slant will be polar science and the environment, with the ultimate goal of improving students’ understanding of the polar regions and our changing climate.
