Achievements: Last winter, Devlin scored the most points of any freshman in Wayland history and set freshman records in the 100 meter butterfly, the 50 meter freestyle, the 100 meter freestyle, the 200 meter freestyle relay, the 200 meter medley relay and the 400 meter freestyle relay. Devlin placed second at states in the 200 meter freestyle relay, eighth in the 50 meter freestyle, and ninth in 100 meter butterfly, along with having the third best 100 meter butterfly time (53.3 seconds) in the DCL. Devlin was also a DCL All-Star and finished the year as the team’s highest scorer.

Favorite Memory: Devlin’s favorite swimming memory is helping his team place second overall in the state meet last season.

Quote: “I love swimming because it’s just me in water by myself. I can’t hear anything,no one can talk to me or distract me; it’s just me and my thoughts when I’m in a meet. Also, my coaches [at Wayland] are great and the team aspect of the sport is really fun.”
