Name: David Gavron

Position: Boys’ soccer coach

Achievements: Gavron believes his biggest achievement is having friendly relationships with former players that have lasted years and decades in some cases. He is also thrilled to have been a part of the 2014 State Championship team.

Sports idol: When Gavron was a kid, his biggest sports idol was Rick Burleson, a short-stop for the Boston Red Sox. He ended up using Burleson’s number, number 7, for all of his sports teams. However, Gavron’s current idol is David Robinson, a center from the San Antonio Spurs, who Gavron believes is hardworking, classy and making a difference in the world.

Favorite memory: Gavron’s favorite memory is winning the soccer State Championship in 2014. However, it could also be winning in double overtime against Norwell in the playoffs this past season. Both of these games are big accomplishments to him, one of them got his team to the finals and the other allowed his team to win in the finals.

Passion for coaching: Gavron believes that any great coach must have had good coaches come before him or her. He has had the opportunity to have been coached by exceptional coaches in his lifetime and they taught him a love for the game and how to respect the game. Also, Gavron thinks that if you aren’t passionate for the game, then you shouldn’t be doing it.
