The Bachelor Rewind: episode two
October 26, 2020
*Warning: Spoilers of the Bachelorette ahead!*
Welcome back to week two of “The Bachelorette!” We were once again welcomed to sunny La Quinta Resort and Club where the action finally began with group dates and one-on-ones. Today, we will highlight the important things you should know from week two.
Back by popular demand, the big news of the night once again was Dale. As the men on the first group date spoke the language of love, one thing grabbed their attention: the chemistry between Dale and Clare. You could tell from the way her eyes sparkled that as soon as Dale “de-clared” (get it?) his feelings for her, both physically and emotionally, there was an immediate connection. Though we love the relationship between Clare and Dale, it ruins the purpose of the show, as a large part of the show is the anticipation as to who the winner of the season will be, but when there is a clear front runner, it can be frustrating to watch Clare talking about Dale for the majority of the episode. Given that they’re already a strong couple right off the bat, it can explain why the producers have tried to add drama into this season. But, from the looks of the promos, it seems like not everything is as perfect as it seems.
Our favorite rule “blaker” (okay we’re done now), Blake M, stirred the pot once again: as we found out during the first episode, Blake reached out to Clare over Instagram before filming the show. Even though she appreciated his kind words, it was definitely a risky move.
In last night’s episode, we witnessed his rule-breaking streak yet again. After Blake and other members of the Blue Team lost the dodgeball game during the group date, Blake still thought he needed to see Clare, despite him being considered an unwelcome guest. As you could imagine, it caused a lot of controversy for the Red Team members because they thought Blake was snatching Clare. We have mixed emotions about the actions he took. Was it a smart thing to do? No. But did she love it? Of course! One thing we found shocking was she gave him a rose at the cocktail party. What!? We don’t think it was the smartest thing to do right off the bat, and it seems like she is rewarding drama.
We can’t forget our dear friend, Yosef. That man needs to chill! As we saw in the late-night portion of the first group date, we noticed that the guys didn’t seem completely interested in talking to Clare right away. As some awkward silence passed, the night finally got started. However, Clare couldn’t seem to shake off the fact that no one jumped at the opportunity to talk to her. She made it clear she could easily finish her night in her hotel room, but of course, Yosef had some commentary. He felt he needed to “speak for the group,” which the other guys didn’t take very well. Clare also threw him some shade after he said, “You’re crazy if you think we don’t want to spend time with you,” but that wasn’t the last time he opened his mouth. Yosef also mentioned how Clare was “unclassy” after hearing her decision about the dodgeball date. He also made plans to confront Clare about her behavior so far. That’ll be interesting.
We know we didn’t talk about Jason’s one on one in-depth, but let’s just say his past is a touchy subject for him. This episode definitely confirmed and brought new insights to the show. Clare’s feelings for Dale are definitely messing with her head, so we wonder if she is keeping her options open, or if she’s really set on him. And of course, it will be interesting to see if Yosef actually confronts Clare and how she handles it, because we all know Clare is not going to put up with men questioning her.
That’s all for now. See you next week!
