WHSTE performed Deborah Salem Smith’s “Love Alone” through live stream last Thursday, March 18 and, Friday, March 19. “Love Alone” tells the story of Helen Warren and her daughter Clementine after Susan, Helen’s lesbian partner, and Clementine’s mother dies unexpectedly from minor surgery. “”Love Alone” is an incredibly powerful show, especially during the pandemic,” senior Cal Russell said. “Losing a loved one hits a bit too close to home to many people, and I’m happy to be a part of a piece of art that helps them process their loss.”

"We spent about two months rehearsing and producing the play, with each rehearsal being around two to three hours, two to five times a week," Maurer said. "I actually felt a lot more relaxed this year because we didn't have to worry about festival guidelines or traveling at all."
