BREAKING NEWS: All Wayland drinking water deemed unsafe
March 31, 2021
**Update: The Town of Wayland announced a press release regarding the presence of the PFAS in the Town’s water supply
Following Principal Allyson Mizoguchi’s email about the unsafe drinking water at WHS, all water in Wayland is now facing the same issue.
On Wednesday, March 31, Happy Hollow Elementary School principal Tricia O’Reilly sent out an email warning residents that all drinking water in Wayland was deemed “unsafe to drink” due to a high level of polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS).
The Town is expected to send out a letter to all residents later this evening, but according to O’Reilly, this situation can take anywhere from several weeks to months to resolve.
The water is reportedly safe for bathing and cleaning, but not for consuming or cooking. Stay updated for more to come as more details are announced.
