![In previous years, New England ski mountains have left eager skiers unsatisfied because of the sub-par and icy conditions on the slopes. The Wayland varsity field hockey team beat South High Community on Thursday, Nov. 2 with a final score of 2-0. The game was a preliminary game in the MIAA Division II tournament, where Wayland was the No. 31 seed and South High was the No. 34 seed. On Friday, Nov. 3, the team travelled to Norwood, the No. 2 seed, for the playoff round of 32, where they lost 0-9.

Captain senior Hayley Shaw drives the ball down the field. "The team's bond has been really good compared to other years because of the unity of our two teams," Shaw said. "It feels like we're one big family instead of the usual separation between junior varsity and varsity. We’ve also had a lot of team bonding, like our weekly team dinners and a team sleepover to wrap up the season."
