Welcome to Politalks, your soon-to-be home for all things politics. I would like to think of myself as your guide, helping you delve into the scary world of current, local and world events. I hope to get to know my readers well, and I preach to you this simple message: the political game is not a bystander’s paradise. I think it is essential that we all aim for the hoop (that we all aim to vote, to be informed and to take action, that is).
Buckle up and get ready to care about the world around you.
It all starts with a voice and a position. I, as your mountain guide, will strive to spark the spirit within, a spirit that demands to make politics less boring and less bleak.
And we have chosen an exciting year to do so. Luckily enough, this year hosts the elections for our next president. For that reason, most of my posts will focus on the election. After all, the outcome will have the greatest influence on our livelihood in the years to come. Still, that is not the full cup. I will write about the things that catch my eye in the news and the issues that I really feel the need to talk about. There is no script or teleprompter to follow.
It’s going to be a wild ride.
Within these walls, I will aim to fulfill the three pillars of a first-rate blog: to engage, to inform and to provoke thought among my readers. After all, I am your humble political adviser. I work for you.
I will begin our quest by talking about the state of our union. We, more than ever, stand at a crossroads between two drastically different visions for our future.
The red elephant in the room preaches a deregulated and de-taxed field of freedom for the American people, with a society minus the big government piece. On the other hand, the herd of Democrat donkeys tells us regulation is good where it makes sense and where it benefits the common people of this republic. There is no truly right answer; we can be persuaded by facts the parties put forth or what history tells us, but the people have the final say. You see, what we want as a society and what ideas we put forth is our clay to mold. We, the people, are the sculptors, the drivers steering our nation, choosing the road we want to take.
After all, America is what we make of it.
Follow the issues with me as your guide, and we will together create the United States we want to see.
I look forward to making this blog a pleasure to read, to teaching you a thing or two about current political events, and, finally, to pushing your brain to think deeper. The three pillars of a first-rate blog have never reached such great heights.
Stay tuned to be pleasantly surprised.
Buh bye for now.
