The 2009 movie, “2012” depicts the end of the world with catastrophic geological events such as the eruption of the Yellowstone Caldera. This film brought even more publicity to the controversy surrounding December 21, 2012.
Those who believe that the world will end on December 21, 2012 have many theories about how it will happen. These potential disasters include solar flares, black holes, asteroids, collisions with another planet and a zombie attacks, to name just a few.
Over time there have been countless other apocalypse predictions. The last predicted apocalypse date that was highly publicized was at the turn of the new millenium, on January 1, 2000.
