UPDATE 9:30 p.m.: All Wayland Public Schools will be closed on Friday, February 8 due to severe weather.

4:00 p.m.: Due to the severe weather prediction, Superintendent Paul Stein recently decided that WHS would have an early dismissal at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 8, 2013. WHS and WMS will close at 11 a.m. and the elementary schools will close at noon. Lunch will be served at all schools except Loker.

As a result of the early dismissal, there is a new schedule for tomorrow’s school day.

Block I: 7:30-8:00

Block II 8:05 – 8:30

Block III 8:35 – 9:00

Lunch 1: 9:05-9:30

Block IVA: 9:35-10:00

Block IVB: 9:05-9:30

Lunch 2: 9:35-10:00

Block V: 10:05-10:30

Block VI: 10:35-11:00

There will be the normal five minutes of passing time in between classes, and second and third lunches will combine.

In addition, all after-school activities have been canceled, and the campus will be closed for seniors.

The following sports competitions have been postponed or canceled:
Friday, February 8:
The girls’ basketball game against Waltham has been postponed. Date and time TBD.
The boys’ basketball game at Waltham has been postponed. Date and time TBD.
All practices are canceled.

Saturday, February 9:
The Division III wrestling sectional meet at Wayland has been postponed to Saturday, February 16 at 9:30 a.m. Wayland will host the state meet on February 22 and February 23.
The Dual County League Championship meet for indoor track has been postponed to Sunday, February 10 at 2 p.m.
The girls’ swimming sectional meet has been canceled.

Sunday, February 10:
The boys’ swimming sectional meet has been canceled.
