Tuesday, May 7, is Porrell Day, an event hosted by the Orange and Black Shack to commemorate coach and teacher Joseph Porrell. This year marks the last of Porrell’s involvement in the Wayland High School community after 45 years at WHS as a student, a coach or a teacher.
In an effort to raise awareness and funds for the event, the Orange and Black Shack has been selling T-shirts featuring Porrell’s face. Porrell will be signing these T-shirts and telling stories at a table in the commons set up by the Orange and Black shack.
“Porrell’s stories are going to live on for me,” Dean of Students Scott Parseghian said. “He’s part of this school now.”
