Former WHS student Megan Duffy, Class of 2011, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 18 at age 21.
During her time at Wayland, Duffy was a member of the cheer team.
“She was a good role model,” senior and team member Jillian Nystedt said. “She was always friendly and smiling.”
Visiting hours for Duffy will be held at Brasco & Sons Memorial Chapels Waltham (773 Moody Street) Thursday, November 21 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Her funeral, held at the St. Borromeo Church (51 Hall Street, Waltham) will take place on Friday, November 22 at 11:30 a.m., followed by an interment service at Mount Feake Cemetery (203 Prospect Street, Waltham).
Superintendent Paul Stein wrote a letter on Tuesday to inform the Wayland community of Duffy’s passing.
“I’m told that Megan was someone who could light up a room when she entered,” wrote Stein.
