A project that has taken many days, weeks and months to achieve is finally open and ready for use. The new Council On Aging Community Center opened their newly constructed doors to the public on  June 5. Many activities took place at the opening ceremony including speeches, a ribbon cutting ceremony, games and presentations. In addition, food and beverages were given out for the attendees to enjoy. “We are very excited for this community center to be opening because it has been a long project and has been eagerly awaited for by many Wayland residents,” Wayland resident Deacon Hoagland said.

The Senior Directed One Acts was on Wednesday, June 11. This tradition allows the graduating Wayland High School Theatre Ensemble seniors to direct their own play, with underclassman participating in their short act.
