While Warrior Weekly was on vacation, Warrior sports was not. During the past two weeks, some pretty exciting things have happened.
In swimming, both the girls and boys finished top two in the state. The girls won states, while the boys came in second. Nice job to both of the swim teams. Congratulations to the girls for having an undefeated season.
In basketball, the boys clinched the DCL small title this past week and will be moving on to the playoffs. The boys play Saugus on Tuesday, February 26.
In hockey, both the boys and the girls have qualified for the MIAA winter tournament. The boys look to repeat their success of last season and will play Rockport in their first round game.
The girls, on the other hand, will have a bit of trouble finding success in the tournament this year. They will be without their starting goalie for their game against Lincoln-Sudbury. Their goalie, freshman Kylie Ham made a personal decision that she would not play the game.
The game will be held in Watertown at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday night, and the team would love WHS to come watch and cheer them on.
Good luck to everyone in the first rounds!
Keep checking Warrior Scores for all of the latest on the games this week and all of the other games in the tournament.
In professional news, Tom Brady proved to be the most selfless player on the planet. He signed a contract extension that will only pay him $9 million dollars per season. This way the Patriots can spend money on other players to improve their Super Bowl chances. This would make Brady the 11th highest paid QB. The argument can be made that he should be number one. Thanks Tom!
“Gravity had to be weaker [in ancient times] to make dinosaurs nimble. My theory is the core of the planet shifted when single continents formed to keep us in a balanced spin. The land was farther away from the core and had much less gravity so bigness could develop and dominate. I may not be 100% right but think about it.
