Staff reporter Delia Caulfield asked the Wayland High School community what their predictions are for the 2021-2022 school year regarding COVID-19 precautions and protocol, and staff reporter Tess Alongi reported the Venmo Challenge’s appearance in Wayland when it surprised two Wayland restaurants.

Features:

Staff reporter Olivia Tawakol prompted students to think of their favorite Super Bowl halftime show, and guest writer Tully Jay covered the Wayland SnowBusters, a local snow shoveling business.

Sports:

Staff reporter Michael Nechipurenko spoke with athletes on the football team about their delayed season, and staff reporter Emily Roberge talked with Fall II athletes about the absence of a state tournament.

WSPN’s Garrett Spooner wrote a “Warrior Weekly” regarding the closing of the regular NBA season in preparation for March Madness.

Staff reporter Kaitlyn Mabe and staff reporter Charlotte Thirman shot a gallery at the boys basketball game where they lost to Newton-South, and editor Emily Staiti along with reporter Kate Clifford took pictures at the boys swim team’s last meet of the season.

A&E:

Staff reporter Bryn Curtin reviewed Disney’s new movie, “Soul.”

“Overall, the storyline was an inspirational addition to the Disney Pixar franchise, and it earns a 4.5/5 star rating from me,” Curtin said. “It may make you question your existence, but it also provides you with some answers along the way.”

Opinion:

Staff reporter Genevieve Morrison shared her opinion that elementary school students should be at in-person school four days a week.

“If it’s safe enough for kindergarten to go back, we can broaden this initiative to other students,” Morrison said.

Broadcast:

WSPN’s Jonathan Zhang and staff reporter Brasen Chi recorded their third episode of “Asians on Air” where they conversed over the portrayal of Asian Americans in media and entertainment. Meanwhile, WSPN’s Deirdre Brown with staff reporters Ellie Smith and Jacqueline Cahaly published the 17th episode of “Weekly Breakdown” where they discussed the beginning of the Fall II season and February break.

Brown, Cahaly and Smith also recorded episode 11 of “Healthy Living.” This week, they interviewed student athlete Julia Wegerbauer.
