A Christmas tree was displayed during the Holiday Open House. The tree was donated by Russell's Garden Center and decorated by the Wayland Girl Scouts.

Wayland High School will be hosting its second annual Wayland Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Fair on Sunday, Dec. 8 in the high school commons. Co-organizers and seniors Arya Samaratunga and Eunjee Kang worked together to plan an event where anyone can come and embrace the intricacy of the STEM program and community.

The Wayland Scholarship Foundation was created to help students reach their future goals when choosing which college to attend. “I have a lot of ambitious goals for the program,” Committee Chair Jeanne Brown said. “But primarily, the goal is to ensure that students who have academic promise and financial need get a little help getting to their first year of college.”

On Monday, Feb 24, summer camp registration opened in Wayland. Some of these popular camps sold out in seconds to the eager parents. However, there are still camps available on the Wayland website. "We still have a lot of camps open especially sports, technology and science clinics," Wayland Recreation Director Katherine Brenna said. "I’d say those are about 70% full today."

"The atmosphere was incredible, having two towns that both come to support us is amazing," Galizio said. "When [the crowd] started chanting 'Raider nation' it made [the game] feel like it wasn't just one team against another, we had a whole building of fans supporting us."

In honor of the annual Coaches vs Cancer, all players wore pink bows in their hair. In addition to the bows, the team wore matching pink shirts and spent time before the game setting up the gym with pink streamers and hearts.

During halftime, the team skates off the ice and heads to the locker room. While both teams took their breaks, they also had pep talks for their game plans. "The team played hard, we just couldn't get pucks past such a talented goalie," senior Graham Henrich said.
