This year, the Wayland team is made out of a JV team and a varsity team. There is a wide range of grades from eighth grade to twelfth grade that make up the teams. " [What] I will miss most [about the seniors] is their willingness to be involved," sophomore Mackenzie Grogan said. "Whether it was with school drama or referee frustration, they were really good at listening and giving good advice."

WSPN’s newest series, Wandering Backpack, asks what would you bring if you had 10 minutes to pack a bag with your most treasured items, knowing you wouldn’t be back for years.

iPhone: This is basically the Swiss Army knife of tech devices.

Popcorn: A daily indulgence and source of fiber.

Journal: To document my daily events and write poems.

iPod: I have many more songs than my phone can accomodate.

ChapStick: I’m addicted to it.

Hand sanitizer: I’m a bit of a germaphobe.

Passport: Sometimes I need proof that I’m not Patrick Tutwiler.

Eye of Heru hat: Protects my head and keeps me grounded. I love Kemetic philosophy.

Inhaler: I’m often congested.

Eye glasses: Sight is important.
