Wayland boys varsity volleyball won the opening playoff game against Pioneer Charter School of Science with a 3-0 sweep on Saturday May 30, kicking off the championship season. The game was a chance for the usual lineup to be mixed around and for players to challenge their flexibility with positions.

On May 8, the Class of 2026 celebrated their future endeavors with commitment day. Each student wore a piece of clothing representing the school they will be attending next fall or their future plans, taking pictures to celebrate their next steps. Here are some stats about this year’s seniors:

Sofia Pazolli, Class of 2028, is a first year reporter for WSPN. Sofia is a member of WHS’s Varsity Mock Trial Team. Outside of school, Sofia enjoys practicing pilates, reading, spending time with family and friends and traveling.

Kyle Zhang, Class of 2028 is a second year reporter for WSPN and copy editor for News and Opinion. Kyle plays soccer for the WHS JV team and swims for the Wayland Swim and Dive team. Kyle enjoys spending time with friends, playing violin and eating good food.

Emily Davids, Class of 2028, is a first year reporter for WSPN. Emily plays volleyball and softball for WHS. She also plays viola in the school orchestra and is a member of the Muses, one of the school’s a cappella groups. Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, baking and going to the beach.
