Wayland High School administration upholds decision to not hold a 2022 school-sanctioned Powderpuff game against Weston.

Following discussions between Wayland High School Student Council and Weston High School administration, Wayland High School administration has upheld the decision to not hold a 2022 school-sanctioned Powderpuff game, citing liability concerns.
The game is a longstanding tradition usually held the day before Thanksgiving break. Female students from Wayland High School typically play against female Weston High School students. Senior varsity football players act as coaches.
After many years of deliberation, administration decided to discontinue the tradition.
Wayland High School’s student council president, Delia Caulfield has been in meetings with Weston’s student council and administration, as well as WHS administration, attempting to coordinate a plan for this year.
However, Principal Allyson Mizoguchi confirmed the game to be canceled for this year and indefinitely.
