The 2025 Golden Globes were held on Sunday, Jan. 7. At the event, famous actors and actresses were recognized for their talent, films and other creative productions. However, before the awards began, the stars went onto the Red Carpet to show off their unique looks. Here are our opinions on six different looks shown at this year’s Golden Globes.
Ariana Grande:
Starting off not so strong, Ariana Grande’s appearance at the 2025 Golden Globes was simply uninspiring. Beginning with the babydoll dress, we thought that the tarnished gold skirt wasn’t the best choice to match her color palette, however the thorough design embedded on the top half of the dress saved this look. Adding to the dress, Grande brought back her iconic slick-back high pony-tail. Lastly, Grande’s wise choice of simple yet classic white long gloves helped tie the look together. Overall, we think that Grande could’ve improved with the color palette of her look, yet the idea behind it was definitely on the right track.
Zendaya:
The first thing we were drawn to when looking at Zendaya’s photos was the stunning auburn orange she was dressed in. This shiny silk gown was both equally unique yet classic, which made us fall in love with her look. More importantly, a possible engagement ring was spotted on Zendaya’s finger, which definitely drew more attention to her look. Lastly, we agree that the hairstyle for Zendaya was fitting and timeless. Bobs have recently been trending, and Zendaya styled it to perfection.
Margaret Quallay:
Margaret Quallay’s look did not disappoint. Quallay’s dress was an even combination of simple yet still on-trend. The white layered ruffles along with the sparkly black bow coordinated together perfectly. Another addition to the look that we loved was the high pony-tail matched with the silver headband, introducing a gratifying contrast. In all, Quallay’s look was definitely one of our favorite appearances at the Golden Globes.
Cynthia Erivo:
Cynthia Erivo’s black tiered gown embodied Elphaba’s character from her newly released movie “Wicked.” The gown was coated in white flowers, which paired nicely with the deep V-neck cut of the dress that showed off her three heart tattoos. However, we were thrown off by the silhouette of the dress, the peplum dress had a rectangular shape starting at the hips flowing into the skirt of the dress. Overall, we thought that Erivo’s look was dramatic and bold.
Selena Gomez:
Selena Gomez had a timeless and elegant look. She looked like Cinderella in a light blue Prada gown. The look was completed by her fiance Benny Blanco who was her Prince Charming in an all white suit. Her statement piece was the white diamond 48 carat Tiffany and Co. necklace. We thought her ’50s inspired wavy bob completed the chic look. In conclusion, we loved Gomez’s look and she was definitely a show stopper.
Andrew Garfield:
Last but not least, Andrew Garfield gave fans something to talk about with his monochromatic look. The Gucci dark green suit unbuttoned at the top was certainly eye-catching. However, we thought that the look was really pulled together by the reading glasses with green lenses. Garfield’s look was simple yet captivating.
