WSPN Staff Reporter Joey Fay sits down with senior Graham Henrich who recently committed to the United States Military Academy in West Point, New York.
“I’ve wanted to go into the military for as long as I remember,” Henrich said. “Once I got in it was a no-brainer to go.”
Founded in 1802, West Point’s mission is “To build, educate, train, and inspire the Corps of Cadets to be commissioned leaders of character committed to the Army Values and ready for a lifetime of service to the Army and Nation.” The school itself is very selective, with a 12% acceptance rate. In this podcast, Henrich describes why West Point stood out to him, his experience applying, and what his next couple of months look like before he becomes a cadet.

"The exterior is still a nice monument to remember buildings [involved in] water history," Hoey said. "We all drink lots of water, and it's such an important resource that we kind of take for granted nowadays."](https://waylandstudentpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/IMG_2024-1200x800.jpg)
