Boys volleyball advances to quarterfinals with 3-0 win over Lowell
Wayland boys varsity volleyball won the opening playoff game against Pioneer Charter School of Science with a 3-0 sweep on Saturday May 30, kicking off the championship season. The game was a chance for the usual lineup to be mixed around and for players to challenge their flexibility with positions.

Class of 2028 attends semi-formal dance

The Class of 2028 came together for their semi-formal dance on Saturday, April 11, at Wedgewood Pines Country Club in Stow. Decorated by the sophomore e-board, the venue was filled with an array of gold and white balloons, which sophomores played with frequently throughout the event. Before the dance, sophomores travelled to “pre-semi” to take pictures with their peers. Once they arrived at the club, sophomores delved into the food offered, ranging from chicken tenders to french fries. Then, the lights dimmed and the music amped, signaling it was time to dance. Lasting from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., sophomores danced to range of music genres, DJ’d by wellness teacher John Berry and special education teacher Jeffrey Blue. Along with dancing, students had the opportunity to take photos in the photo booth and participate in WSPN’s annual “Meet the Semi Dates” video.

Natalie Greenaway, Class of 2027, is a third year reporter and co-multimedia editor for WSPN. Outside of school, she swims for WHS’s varsity swim team and enjoys running, spending time with friends and family and going to the beach.

Kate Goodman, Class of 2026, is a second year reporter and social media editor for WSPN. Kate is the captain for the WHS varsity field hockey team and is also the director of Window Dance Ensemble. Outside of school, she competes and performs for her dance studio, spends time with friends and family and enjoys her time on Block Island.

Sofia Ciciarelli, Class of 2026, is a third year reporter and co-editor-in-chief for WSPN. Along with this, she is a managing editor for the yearbook. In the spring, she is a member of the varsity outdoor track and field team. Outside of school, Sofia likes spending time with family and friends, exercising and being outside.
