On Monday, May 25, the Wayland Memorial Day Ceremony was held at Wayland Middle School at 11:30 a.m.. Although the day was originally planned to include a morning parade followed by a ceremony at Lakeview Cemetery, rain forced the parade to be canceled and the ceremony to be moved indoors to the Wayland Middle School gymnasium.
The ceremony featured performances by the Wayland High School Band, a recitation of the Gettysburg Address, a rifle salute, and speeches from Jamie Eldridge, keynote speaker Graig Gruber, and Wayland Select Board member Douglas Levine.

"The exterior is still a nice monument to remember buildings [involved in] water history," Hoey said.
